Wingate University. Applications are available
starting December 1, 2009.
Applications can be submitted online or by mail/fax. Acceptance is made on a rolling basis and you will be notified about your application status within three weeks.
We consider a number of factors
when it comes to acceptance, but the most important is that you WANT to be a part of FELC in 2010!

Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge
In keeping with the tradition of free enterprise, the Jesse Helms Center offers an exciting five-day residential camp for high school students every summer. The Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge (FELC) has been educating and providing real life business experience to students for over 13 years.
Traditionally, FELC is held on the campus of Wingate University near Charlotte, North Carolina. Rising junior and senior high school students who have demonstrated leadership potential and an interest in the free market system are encouraged to register. FELC is an opportunity to give students a better understanding of business, personal responsibility, and the opportunities available to all in the free enterprise system.
Over the course of the five-day camp, students form companies that manufacture, market and "sell" a product or service to other members of the camp. Company activities include lessons about marketing, production, the cost of doing business, profits and taxes. Through a blend of instructional and hands-on learning, students build upon their knowledge each day.
In addition to the company activity, students will hear informative and motivational speakers, participate in a Virtual Trade Mission, view the acclaimed documentary "Call of The Entrepreneur," participate in a speech competitions, and play the Free Enterprise Challenge Game. Each day, students will be actively engaged in learning about the free enterprise system and the principles upon which it is based.
